Centering Community Voice is a movement to place the perspectives, opinions, and goals of community residents at the heart of community health system transformation resulting in more equitable health outcomes.
The goal of the Centering Community Voice effort is to raise awareness and build capacity among community members, community-based collaboratives, funders, and researchers.
This effort emerged from the learning and sense-making of 25 years of on-the-ground community health transformation efforts supported by GHPC. The resources provided here were developed with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in 2022 and 2023.
THE DOCUMENTARY
“Center Community Voice: the Documentary” features the story of three communities and the lessons learned while working to transform community health with residents at the center of their efforts.
Use the documentary as part of group showings, to introduce partners and stakeholders to the importance of community voice, and to inspire community residents and community organizations to continue to press for changes in how community-wide efforts are identified, planned, and executed.
